Following a Lottery Grant for the extension of the hall a survey for new uses was carried out.

THREE CROSSES COMMUNITY CENTRE SURVEY RESULTS…..SURVEY MAY 2010

You may already have seen the results of the survey but we wanted to take this opportunity to thank allthose who took the time to complete the survey that was delivered to all the households in Three Crosses. 75 households out of the 579 that received a copy returned the survey.

Here is what those people said that they would like to see at the Community Centre…

Most people selected a range of activities that they would be interested in, although realistically most families could not participatein everything they selected! In some cases the lack of requests for future activities probably reflects the fact that these activities are already happening – eg Mums/Toddlers and one Support group. Other ideas from the survey included for example: a Farmers Market, Craft Market, more Social events, children’s holiday club, and a health clinic.

As well as the survey we also asked the children in the school for their ideas –the younger ones came up with everything from discos to wrestling and weight lifting. The older children said the following:

For Older People For Families For Teenagers For Children
Comfy Chairs Mother & Toddler Group Youth club Games
TV Film Club Pool table Chocolate Fountain
Library Art facilities Vending machine Roller skating
Knitting & Sewing Club Sunday dinner Facilities Table tennis Dance club
Massage facilities (for aches, pains & relaxation) Organised walks with guide (teaching about history of Three Crosses) Swap shop (books, games, clothes) Science club

The Hall Management Committee will be selecting a range of activities from those that show interest from more than 15 people to develop further and will contact anyone who has already expressed an interest in the activity or in helping.

If you do want to join any of the groups that will be set up or indeed help us with getting more activities goingfeel free to leave a message on our website
