What is a community council?
Community councils exist to bridge the gap between City/Town councils and the communities they serve.
A committee of local people are elected as councillors and meetings are held monthly which are open to the public.
In our meetings we discuss any concerns that have been raised by residents and look at ways we can help. Planning applications are viewed by the Councillors and any objections made before plans are sent back to County Hall.
Our feeling is that decisions affecting our community should be made by members of it who have the interests of the village at heart. By focusing council time and effort on the maintenance and improvement of our village we hope to make a positive difference to the quality of life for everyone who is lucky enough to live here!
